Lord of the Rings Online isn’t through with its 18th anniversary celebrations even as the test server looks at major overhauls to the next festival on the list. Update 44.1 went into testing this week with a preview of the new Furtherholm island, which will serve as a new locale for the Midsummer Festival starting this year.
“New for this year’s Midsummer Festival, you’re invited to visit the far-off tropical island of Furtherholm,” the devs posted. “Located in the Shield Isles off the coast of Umbar in the Bay of Belfelas, a crew of freebooters have retired from a life at sea to open the island as a retreat for travellers from all parts of Middle-earth. Come enjoy the sun and surf and collect rewards for lending a hand!”
Update 44.1 also is putting the Dun Shûma dungeon through its paces, shoring up the legendary endgame for the Angmar and Mordor servers, and preparing the next legendary item reward track for May 21st.
