Multiplayer game builder Everywhere’s creation tool will be usable in single-player action shooter MindsEye

Back in 2022 we first caught word about a game called Everywhere, a self-described “multi-world gaming experience” from indie studio Build A Rocket Boy that lets players create their own multiplayer gaming experiences in what sounds like a large player hub; think something like Roblox but in UE5 and you’re pretty much there.

As it turns out, the studio has been working on a second title alongside Everywhere, a single-player action shooter called MindsEye, and its latest news is tied to the game builder, particularly since the creation engine known as Arcadia has been used to craft both titles.

We’ll begin with some catching up on Everywhere: The game launched a builder’s beta last June, which stretched onward into May 1st. This beta introduced a feature known as stamps that let players make their own building blocks, game assets, game triggers, or entire levels, then share them with others to use or modify as they see fit. The test otherwise made updates that included weekly builder challenges and customizable UI among other things.

This leads us to an announcement shared on the Everywhere Discord that not only confirmed the close of beta testing but also re-announced that MindsEye had tied down a release date of Tuesday, June 10th, and will launch with a playable version of Arcadia available. Furthermore, player-built content crafted during Everywhere’s beta will be migrated to MindsEye’s version of Arcadia “over the following months,” effectively letting players continue to craft their own experiences via the shooter. Those who played the test for at least 10 hours will also be getting a free PC key for MindsEye via email.

BARB also reaffirmed that it has been utilizing Arcadia to build the game while leveraging tester feedback from Everywhere, all while thanking fans for their contribution to refine the toolset. “Together we’ve reached this pivotal milestone and we will continue to redefine what’s possible in AAA-quality game creation. MindsEye will be your new home to create, connect, and explore without boundaries,” the studio writes.

Still, this has caused a bit of confusion among fans who are wondering if MindsEye’s launch means the end of development for Everywhere. One mod’s response to that question clarifies that Arcadia, MindsEye, and Everywhere are indeed three separate things but is otherwise not sure if the MindsEye version of Arcadia will be the same as the one included in Everywhere. As for the development of Everywhere, an interview from Eurogamer with assistant game director Adam Whiting confirmed that development on it will indeed continue, and that MindsEye will be accessible through Everywhere as well as bought as a standalone title.
