Even as World of Warcraft is coming off a pretty terrible mid-tier update from last month, the fantasy MMO is getting ready for another one. Patch 11.1.7: Legacy of Arathor is in testing as we speak, and Blizzard is talking up its hodgepodge of events to keep the summer months busy.
The next smallish content update takes players back to the Arathi Highlands for a two-chapter campaign, a handful of lorewalking quest chains, new delve affixes to bump up the challenge, the return of the greedy emissary, a six-week refreshed Turbulent Timeways event, and a couple of UI quality-of-life improvements.
Then there’s the combat assist feature that has the WoW world brawling. “Combat Assistant is a new feature coming to the game that highlights the recommended next ability based on resources and the situation your character is in,” the studio said. “In addition, a Single-Button Assistant can be used to cast the next recommended ability in the sequence.”
Also in World of Warcraft, the May trading post is all about “critter country” right now, if you want to ride a hedgehog, dress up as a fox, or cosplay as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (seriously, there are shell backs and ninja weapon skins galore).
