Back in March, we covered the latest new game emerging from Mike Morhaime’s Dreamhaven conclave, Wildgate, which devs describe as a “crew-based first-person shooter set in the far reaches of space” that “combines action-packed emergent gameplay with explosive spaceship combat for a galactically fresh take on the multiplayer genre.” It’s not an MMO, but it’s real cute, and Moonshot Games is staffed heavily by former Blizzard devs. The team ran a playtest back in April, but if you missed out, you’re getting another chance this very weekend.
“Five crews. Twenty Prospectors. One Artifact. Unlimited Space Crimes!” Moonshot writes. “Our Community Preview playtest runs from May 9 – 12. The playtest is available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. […] Servers will remain available and playable 24/7; however, since Wildgate is still a work-in-progress, you may encounter bugs, crashes, and other connectivity issues while playing.”
Signups are live on the official site, and they close May 8th, so chop chop. Oh yeah, and if you were in the April test, you’re already in this one without another signup round.
