Don’t worry, Pax Dei isn’t removing your tapeworms when it wipes early access

Wait... wait.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Pax Dei over the last few weeks, you already knew that a full progression wipe was incoming, coincident with the arrival of Verse 3, which lands this spring. And now we’ve got a clearer picture on how that wipe will go down.

Mainframe Industries says that it’s removing all “wearables and wieldables” except Founder’s items and a specific list of relics; moreover, some rare relics that shouldn’t have been accessible but were will actually be sticking around, including the royal tapeworm and gadfly larvae. Appetizing! All items purged are returned to players as resources.

“All crafting skills level will remain and we won’t reset them for your characters,” the studio says. “This does not mean that crafting is not undergoing heavy changes, though.”

Pax Dei is having a rough week; just yesterday, Mainframe announced the layoffs of nearly a third of its staff and acknowledging a slowdown in development while insisting that the game is still on track to launch later this year.
