‘Twas May 2003 when a scrappy space MMO entered the scene, only to grow into an unstoppable PvP monster and generate decades of drama-infused tales. EVE Online is celebrating its 22nd anniversary this week with what it always does, which is a star war.

Capsuleer Day XXII raged this month between players and Drifters, leading up to an explosive climax of rewards and destruction. This all precedes the release of the MMO’s next expansion, Legion, at the end of May and the rollout of EVE Vanguard early this summer.

“Today we mark 22 incredible years of you bringing New Eden to life,” said CCP. “Whether you’re leading a thousand-strong fleet into war, hauling cargo through highsec, exploring the unknown, or just figuring out your first fit, you’re part of this universe. And it wouldn’t exist without you. Thank you for the stories you’ve created, the memories you’ve shared, and the passion that’s kept EVE flying all these years.”
