Fractured Online’s Happy Cauldron Games is once again keeping its comm lines aflame with yet another development progress post that grants followers of the rebuilding sandbox MMORPG a look at Kickstarter goodies, character customization updates, and some new animations.

The report opens by noting the game’s backend moving to Coherence, a multiplayer backend SDK for Unity, which the studio notes is going “faster than expected.” A world streaming system has also been implemented that loads in needed assets for players’ immediate area, which has helped reduce performance load. Finally, an internal benchmarking tool has been developed and shows that efforts thus far are promising. This tool is also incidentally where the devs provide a quick peek at new textures and visuals for grass, plants, and roads.

Fans were also told about some enhancements to character customization, which include individual body parts that are now capable of supporting partial armor for arms and torsos along with work in progress to the game’s dyeing system. Speaking of flashy armor, there are several pieces of concept art showcasing the studio’s work on Kickstarter backer cosmetics.

Finally, Happy Cauldron answered a few player questions. Among these answers are plans to support larger scale farming to supply cooks and alchemists, confirmation of three regional servers upon relauch (US, EU, and Asia), and discussions about making wagons and mounts for trade.
