It’s hard for me to believe it, but it’s been over six years since the City of Heroes community whirred back to life with the release of the source code – and that means a bunch of CoH rogue servers are not only celebrating the game’s anniversary this season but celebrating their own birthdays. That includes City of Heroes Rebirth, one of the small and plucky servers that just keeps marching onward.
The player team is honoring the occasion with a full week of experience buffs from May 14th to May 20th, as well as Nemesis invasions all month and a Monster Mash event on May 17th.
Rebirth is a fairly small server and is not part of the licensed Homecoming conglomerate, but we enjoyed our time on it all the same, finding it a creative mix with new archetypes and quick leveling. We are currently awaiting the launch of its Issue 7 content update, which was delayed last fall into 2025; it includes full-color costume customization and a new spin on Kallisti Wharf.
