It’s been 23 years since Final Fantasy XI launched (slightly less time in North America, but who’s counting?) – and if you took some time away from the game, Vana’diel wants you back. No, really; the Return Home to Vana’diel campaign kicks off on May 16th, offering former subscribers a chance to jump back into the game and enjoy everything that the title has to offer. If you’d like to take part and your characters are inactive as of Tuesday, May 13th, then you can log in and play the game at no charge until May 26th.
Of course, if that makes you think that you want to catch up with the game again and you’re missing an expansion, or just want to transfer a character to a different server for play, then the game is also running a discount campaign from May 16th through May 30th. The full collection for the game is about $10, with the Seekers of Adoulin expansion running $5 and character transfers costing $9. Check out the full rundown of deals on the official page.
