Statehelm is getting closer in Project Gorgon – but it’s not here yet. The MMORPG’s final major city is one of the last big hurdles for the game’s development, and it is indeed referenced several times in today’s patch notes, but Elder Game says it’s not accessible yet and that it’s still working behind the scenes on it.
So what is in today’s update? A long list of balancing tweaks, including default and retroactive endurance reqs to higher-level drops (“made to prevent low level characters from using high level equipment”), a nerf for egg run quest rewards, and more interactive graves (festive). The Druid skill in particular has seen a balancing pass on gear transmute costs and multiple abilities, mostly buffs.
The anti-twinking changes have caused a bit of a stir in the community, as many players didn’t want to see gear locked behind stats, as it makes it harder to twink not just your alts but other new players and guildies. It’s definitely one of those changes that makes the MMO feel a little less old-school, anyhow. Other folks just don’t want to have to grind endurance, as it’s a bit of a pain in the rear.
“I get you,” Elder Game’s Eric Heimburg said in Discord. “That’s kind of intended though for some items. We may overuse hardcoded Endurance reqs, though. Will experiment with replacing those with other general reqs like Lore or Cartography.”
