Now that it’s been a couple of days since Destiny 2 unveiled its Year of Prophecy content plans, players of the looter shooter have understandably had a couple of questions, some of which Bungie has elected to answer in its weekly newsletter.
First off, the Star Wars collaboration expansion arriving in Renegades is promised to be within the wider D2 canon. “[W]e’re leaning into the aesthetic, tone and vibe of Star Wars to tell a Destiny story with Destiny characters,” assures assistant game director Robbie Stevens.
Other answers in the FAQ include confirmation that the Director will not be replaced by the portal UI, that vault space will not be increased, a cost of 1,000 silver for each of the four reward passes planned in the year, and that all character power levels will be rebased down to a cap of 10; more information on this is promised in a future newsletter.
Meanwhile the Rite of the Nine update is being highlighted in the game, as is the new Heavy Metal PvP mode, which pits two teams of three against each other and centers around the use of tanks. This new activity also brings a new event homes mechanic that replaces the event cards used by the shooter before. Players can expect daily and weekly missions, event currencies for more goodies, and unlockables like a combat capable new sparrow mount available during the Heavy Metal event.
