Where Digital Extremes’ in-development action RPG barely got any stage time, the studio’s sci-fi looter shooter Warframe commanded much more attention on the PAX East show floor. Probably because there are three months’ worth of update details to share.
First and easily most important is the game’s next content update, Isleweaver, which will be landing sometime in June. This patch takes players back to Duviri roguelike instances, only this time they take place on new maps, let players use their own Frames, and access a clan-specific instance for additional clan rewards.
The stream also gave a very brief peek at the patch’s newest frame Oraxia, a spider-like character with plenty of creep factor. Otherwise the patch is bringing improvements to the new player onramping that moves “from account creation straight through to 1999” and attempts to make things cohesive; adding quality-of-life updates for dojos, melee slam attacks, and certain Frame augments; and bringing a full rework for Valkyr that leans into her berserker rage mechanic.
The rest of the stream was mostly about Frames: Prime Yareli will be making her debut on Wednesday, May 21st with the usual unique weapons, glyphs, and accessories, and an heirloom version of Valkyr is arriving on Monday, July 21st. There’s lots of videos waiting below for those who want to see more.
