While we here at the MOP offices might remember Tarisland for its baby bump curse of vengeance, it’s also supposed to be a mobile and PC MMORPG that Tencent was meant to keep updating. However we happen to have noticed that there weren’t any major updates since this past February. So, whatever happened to Tarisland? It would appear to be heading to the dark place.
The last patch released for the game came during a “nonstop maintenance” last March that nerfed the Bard, adjusted legendary weapons, and applied a couple of fixes. Otherwise, there haven’t been any new posts on Discord, while the Twitter account shared word of a monthly guild activity competition and an “engagement” post asking about favorite female classes.
This has unsurprisingly caused the general tone of chat in the Discord to be pretty morose about Tarisland’s future prospects as fans argue about its activity, share experiences of an empty game world, and relate stories of returning players caught in matchmaking hell, unable to find groups for raids and dungeons. The game’s subreddit isn’t much better, with the latest posts focusing on a Discord moderator who reportedly went scorched earth over the MMO’s development and tried to call fans over to his own in-development game.
