Old School RuneScape players may think that they’re rough and tough enough to take on any single boss by themselves — but what about a boss that requires a team-up? That’s the challenge of this week’s new big bad boss, Yama, a “wheelin’ dealin’ demon” in the Chasm of Fire that takes a duo of players to defeat.
“You’ll find Yama sitting atop a throne that’s bigger than it has any right to be – and no, you can’t have it for your player-owned house,” Jagex said. “He’s got plenty of other deals on offer, though, all of which involve facing him in combat. He’ll even inhibit his own power to make it easier on you. How can you say no to that?”
The studio also announced that it was changing a loot roll on Yama for pets that was previously only available if you had a specific contract while fighting him. Now, all players will get a crack at the pet, with contract-laden adventurers increasing their chances for a drop.
