Over a hundred thousand Dune Awakening players got swallowed by the sandworm

We usually roll our eyes when studios offer infographics in lieu of useful numbers like “how many people actually played,” but in the case of Dune Awakening, we kinda know the latter anyway thanks to Steam. Plus there’s actually a bit to be learned from this round of seemingly random numbers.

For starters, nearly 108,000 of you became breakfast for Shai-Hulud the sandworm – though since our own testers got eaten on purpose, we have to wonder how many of you tried that too.

Funcom also says players got high enough on spice to hallucinate over 4000 times, built over 200,000 vehicles, died almost a million times, “withered away in the sun” 65,000 times, and got lost in the sandstorm 10,000 times. Honestly, the infographics are making the game seem like masochism. Tag yourself: I’m definitely “withered away in the sun.”
