Finally, we are go for Chrono Odyssey: Kakao announced today that it’s taking beta sign-ups for its upcoming action MMORPG – and the test is coming in June.
“Kakao Games and Chrono Studio today announced that sign-ups for the highly anticipated Chrono Odyssey closed beta are live, with the limited-time PC closed beta event on Steam officially scheduled for June. Even before the official announcement of the closed beta, Chrono Odyssey has amassed over 400,000 sign-ups organically through word of mouth. This first public playtest milestone marks the next step toward the game’s full launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, promising a groundbreaking MMORPG experience powered by cutting-edge technology.”
Readers who follow Kakao’s investor reports know that the company has been talking up a closed beta this spring (before summer); in fact, we were expecting it in May. It doesn’t sound too far off the plan to arrive in June.
Beta signups are through Steam, nice and easy; this particular test will see players trying out the game’s action combat, dynamic weather, diurnal cycles, temporal rifts, and three of the six classes: Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker.
