I am someone with a huge degree of patience for grinds and making slow, steady progress in goals in any MMO. That is the closest thing I have to a superpower, I suppose. But that does not mean there are not times I have looked at a grind and just immediately replied with “nope, I’m out.” Not because the grind is impossible – anything is possible if you stick it out and pace yourself – but because the amount of grind stretches beyond the point when I will continue caring. I would rather just do something else, even if that something else is watching a stupid video on loop.
There are times when other people have run out of patience before I have, of course. But I have also started a project with people, and the other people have almost immediately just decided to nope on out of there. Or I’ve said, “Yep, this sounds awful, I’m out.” So what’s the fastest you’ve ever noped out of an MMO grind? When have you been faced with a long-term project and decided that you know what, real winners quit?
