Bonus question: What’s your favorite thing to do at the beach? (No, “not going to the beach” or “leaving” are not options. You are at the beach.)
Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Aside from exercise games, I wanna hit up Monster Hunter Wilds for a bit, try to get another Divine Protection jewel.
Most of the time, I love swimming at the beach, but if I can see something like a sea slug or even whale that’s eve better.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna.bsky.social, blog): I’ve been playing lots of Palia and am making headway, I think. I’ve more than doubled the amount of time I originally expected to spend on the way to Elderwood, but in my defense, that’s only because I’m having a great time. I know, a cozy game that actually captured my brain. I’m gonna be swamped with real life this weekend, but I am still playing a little bit every day.
Eliot is aiming his warning at me; I can’t really go to the beach, not really, not in the summer and not without more sun protections than exist, anyway, so my dreaming about that is over. When I was a kid, I mostly swam until I was tired and sat out with a pile of books and hoped the world would leave me alone. Goals. Miss that.
Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes.bsky.social, blog): Like Bree, I’m mostly going to be doing things in Palia; I’ve started my inroads into Elderwood but have to do some skilling up in order to really be able to harvest the goodies from the zone. Past that it’s probably going to be more dinking around in Monster Hunter Wilds, some casual alt leveling in Final Fantasy XIV, and picking back up with the Sith Inquisitor storyline in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Bonus: Man, it’s been literal years since I’ve been on a beach (and visiting Norfolk/Newport News beaches has ruined me for other shorelines frankly). So with that in mind, just the overall vibe of a beach; the sand, the surf, the outdoorsy fun that can be had, and of course the beachside sports like surfing and skating. Maybe I’ll return to Newport News someday. Or at the least 17th Street Surf Shop.
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Got my usual FFXIV stuff this weekend, plus I’ve been working on the Nightwave objectives in Warframe and I have Yareli Prime cooking as I type right now. So I’ll have stuff for leveling.
I generally am not a big fan of beaches, but it is nice to go sit and read in the early fall on the beach. Quiet and peaceful with just the hint of salty air. If I wanted to go swimming, I’d go to a pool.
Sam Kash (@samkash@mastodon.social): I’ll be rocking quite a bit in the current test run of Guild Wars 2‘s Push PvP event. I have high hopes but low expectations. I have had a really busy week so I haven’t spent as much time as I wanted in Warborne Above Ashes. I’ll also be continuing my Nine Sols adventures.
Bonus: I’m going to sound awful, but it’s the drinks you guys! Just laying back, staring at the water and the sky, and tossing back a few knowing I don’t have to drive or be too responsible.
