Does the idea of a flooded world appeal to you — as a game, we mean, not as some sort of sadistic fantasy? If you grooved on movies like Waterworld or video games like Subnautica, you may want to check out THQ Nordic’s Tides of Tomorrow, a new multiplayer adventure game that’s coming out early next year.

This game takes place in the wake of a worldwide flood and global plague on the planet Elynd, throwing double perils at the player right off the bat. Fortunately, there will be a way to grab your own sailboat and head off looking for opportunities and hope.

“Find a cure, explore floating platforms, or deal with the threats exposed by the community,” developer Digixart said.

The studio noted that players can follow other players along on their journeys as well, with key adventure game-like choices affecting the overall storyline: “Player actions will change the story for other players. By following your favorite streamer or friend, the unique asynchronous system will generate a unique adventure based on the combination of all those choices.”

Tides of Tomorrow released a new trailer this week announcing its official launch date on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.: February 24th, 2026.
