Welcome to Not-E3 2025 – that is, Summer Game Fest 2025, which runs all weekend. Tonight, the ubiquitous Geoff Keighley will host the kick-off event live from YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, complete with teasers and (of course) a long line of trailers. Probably way too many overly long shootymans demo videos too. Pew pew pew rat-a-tat-tat in your ears for three hours makes the ol’ brain go numb.
But we do it for you! We’ll be liveblogging the details of the show down below, with an eye toward MMO and multiplayer games and anything wild that may happen along the way. We’re expecting stuff from Digital Extremes, Pearl Abyss, Bethsoft, Kakao, Nexon, NCsoft, Funcom, and plenty more smaller teams too. Watch along with us (and don’t forget to refresh for our notes!).
Liveblog is off! Fortnite has a trailer/ad for the Star Wars live event coming tomorrow. It’s called Death Star Sabotage.
Bamco dropped a trailer for its new action RPG, Codevein II. Not an MMO, but the original did have online co-op, so we assume this will too.
The Cube
Mundfish just announced a – and I quote – “MMORPG shooter” called The Cube based on the Atomic Heart universe. We ran it back to check and yes, that’s what he said. Huh. More here.
Killer Inn
Square-Enix is getting in on the Among Us trend with 24-player social deduction game Killer Inn.
Arc Raiders
Nexon’s Embark Studios dropped a trailer for Arc Raiders with the announce date: October 30th on PC and console.
Dune Awakening
Funcom rolled up with the Dune Awakening launch trailer. Technically, it’s in headstart; the real launch is next week.
Chrono Odyssey
Kakao brought a Chrono Odyssey teaser! Testing is slated for June 20th-22nd.
Wuthering Waves
Smol trailer, can’t find it yet.
NCsoft
NCsoft hauled out a trailer for the newly announced Blade & Soul Heroes.
Wildgate
Wildgate got a launch date! That’s Moonshot Games’ Mike Morhaime-backed co-op extraction RPG. MOP’s Andy just gave it a spin! Open beta kicks off next week; launch is July 22nd.
MechaBreak
MechaBreak brought a launch date to go with its trailer: July 1st.
LEGO Party
New LEGO multiplayer party game for MOP’s Andrew to try.
Last Flag
Night Street Games announced a ’70s theme team shooter. Closed alpha coming later this year.
Guild Wars 2
Oooh, ArenaNet shelled out for a Guild Wars 2 trailer! Absolution just launched on Tuesday, of course, but this trailer is more general. Double XP all weekend.
The First Descendant
The First Descendant dropped a new trailer for the Breakthrough update, coming August 7th.
