If you think that every deity in SMITE 2 is all about claiming credit, you haven’t seen what the newest deity Ganesha is all about. He’s a great dude. For example, his passive ability gives credits for kills to other nearby deities, and he just gets some extra gold as compensation. He also curses his opponents while buffing his allies’ damage, inflicts silence while buffing protection, and his ultimate imprisons enemies in a set of pillars to make them easier for fellow deities to take them out. What a dude! He really is the bringer of good fortune.
Of course, players can also look forward to new cosmetics and skins (including a particularly patriotic skin for anyone who wants to celebrate the 4th of July a bit early) as well as balance tweaks and quality of life improvements. It’s not just about Ganesha, or perhaps if you’d prefer, Ganesha is just magnanimous to let other people share the spotlight when it’s his special patch. He’s really cool. Just beware of imitators.
