Last month we reported on Grow a Garden, the wildly popular game made in Roblox crafted by a teenager and now managed by shameless adult-owned companies, the title itself basically being a rehash of FarmVille (inside of a rehash of Minecraft) because time is a flat circle.
Well, it would appear that Grow a Garden’s wild popularity wasn’t just a flash in the pan, as the game earned itself another player concurrency high of over 16M over the last weekend, beating out one of the giants of multiplayer gaming, Fortnite.
The new spike in population is being linked to an in-game promotion that promised players a free Cooked Owl pet if they were online the moment when a new patch, known as the Working Bee update, released. So yes, FOMO tactics also work for titles cobbled together in Roblox, too.
