Astroneer apologizes for its missing roadmap, but it’s boosting storage density with elevators

You know it has to be a weird kind of patch week when my kids start gibbering about elevators – but that’s just Astroneer for ya. The multiplayer sandbox released what System Era is calling the Elevated Update.

“Going up! The advent of Stacked Platforms ushers in a new era of verticality and compact organization for Astroneers everywhere,” the team says. “Stacked Platforms are comprised of a top and bottom ‘bunk,’ allowing them to hold twice as much as standard platforms in the same amount of horizontal space. The top bunk will dynamically adjust to the height of items on the bottom bunk.”

We also spy larger capacity batteries, print filters, and a new fey outfit. The devs also tease future content, saying they’ve been “taking feedback from Glitchwalkers and incorporating it into [their] future plans.” It kinda looks like a rail system for loading containers, eh?

System Era does apologize for not yet releasing a roadmap for the year (guys it’s almost July), but apparently it’s still coming. We’re guessing it might also have something to do with the Astroneer spinoff, Starseeker, that the company is readying for launch next year.
