World of Warcraft activates Legacy of Arathor, explains Pandaria Classic’s celestial dungeons

Don’t let the double decimal points in the update fool you: World of Warcraft’s latest content drop is anything but insignificant. Legacy of Arathor went live last night, bringing the retail playerbase a new branching campaign in the Arathi Highlands, three repeatable Lorewalking adventures, “overcharged” delves with new rewards, and a combat skill assistant for the rotationally challenged among us.

This patch also activated a seven-week run of Turbulent Timeways, which will rotate through expansions on a weekly basis to give players a major XP buff. There’s also a pirate dragon to be earned for those who master the achievement.

Over in Pandaria Classic, Blizzard posted a huge rundown for how the brand-new Celestial Dungeons mechanic will work when that expansion goes live as a replacement for the raid finder. “To somewhat mimic how Raid Finder content was originally released, Celestial Dungeons will become available two weeks after the release of Mogu’shan Vaults. From there, two weeks after each raid is released, the Celestial Dungeon drops and the items on the Avatar of the August Celestials will update their tables to contain items from that raid,” the studio said.
