The power is now in the hands of Once Human players as the option to rent custom servers for the survivalbox has officially moved out of its “early access” period and into its full “1.0 release” with this week’s patch.
This new release version of the feature will now let players purchase premium items while on custom servers such as battle passes, lockboxes, and cash shop stuff. In addition, premium cosmetics that were already purchased will now be shared between regular and custom servers, on top of existing sharing of various currencies, battle pass progress, and bad luck guarantees when cracking open lockboxes. Basically, money spent on the survivalbox will now be acknowledged when playing on a rented server.
The custom server release is the bigger part of this week’s patch, but other additions were made as well, like the ability to see specific game chat channels in Discord even while offline, an in-game server launch schedule to help players sign up for the server types they want, and a couple of new events that reward players for using the Once Human widget on their mobile devices and rerun several cosmetic sets in the in-game wish machine buildable item. There’s also been adjustments and fixes for various scenarios and game mechanics that fans should know about.
