Age of Water’s latest patch adds wind turbines and rebalances power consumption

Powerful!

The latest update for Age of Water is all about the balance of power. Specifically, it’s about the balance of power consumption; you shouldn’t be able to allocate more than enough power to run everything on a boat at full tilt, but should instead have to manage weaponry, maneuverability, and survival systems. This means making things drain more power, removing the limit on pumps to keep your ship from taking on water, and so forth. It’s pretty extensive.

Fortunately, the patch also adds in the option to build wind turbines in order to help generate some much-needed additional energy (the wind, after all, isn’t going anywhere) while also adding new weapon options, new ship options, and dramatically reducing repair costs. So it might take you a little while to get the hang of these changes, but at least durability isn’t going to be as much of a problem even if power is a bigger one.
