The latest Final Fantasy XIV live letter has showed off the game’s next patch: patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow, is slated for early August release and will contain the conclusion of the Dawntrail expansion story. Of course, before we reach that wrap-up, we’ll have a new expert dungeon in the form of the Meso Terminal and a new trial with a name yet to be revealed, so players will not simply saunter their way into a concluding arc without any effort.

The patch will also bring the second installment of the Echoes of Vana’diel series with San d’Oria: The Second Walk, new Yok Huy crafting allied society quests, further Hildibrand adventures, and the Wreath of Snakes being the patch’s Unreal trial. Cosmic Exploration will continue with a visit to the first new location, Phaenna, a lush world filled with crystals and alien flora with pinks-violet overtones. There will, of course, be new rewards and new Cosmic Tool upgrades.

Players can also look forward to further Phantom Weapon enhancement quests, and a new Deep Dungeon dubbed Pilgrim’s Traverse (which, at a glance, appears to be located in Il Mheg in Norvrandt). The new Deep Dungeon will feature a bonus challenge battle against the final boss at level 100 once it is cleared. On top of that, the chat bubble feature will be implemented, Viera and Hrothgar get more headgear options (including an option to hide Viera ears on certain headgear pieces), and more besides. You can catch up on all of the revelations from this particular live letter with a lengthy live-translated thread on BlueSky.
