Playable Worlds’ Raph Koster has been busy taking snapshots from within Stars Reach, apparently. That’s the gist of his latest personal blog post, which is the digital equivalent of looking at someone’s vacation slide show, only the slides are screenshots and the vacation destination is his own game.
The visuals shown off put the sandbox MMORPG in its best light while Koster once more talks about the Wild Wormholes update and the things procedurally generated worlds are capable of, though he also highlights several structures that players have put together, using the in-game physics engine to craft things like ice rinks, heat pumps, and functioning elevators.
The blog closes with the promise that combat improvements are in the works along with continued performance updates, visual updates to flora, and further feature additions intended to bring the game to a state when it can run 24/7 by the end of the summer. “It’ll be tight, but we’re making good progress,” Koster assures fans.
“But right now, I just wanted to show off the visuals a bit.”
Some of those visuals are showcased in the gallery below, which is also where you can find the latest livestream that featured players joining in for the game’s one-day open test.
