It has been a year for the Viking-themed survival sandbox ASKA. That’s not a statement of exhaustion or disparagement; that’s just literally how long the game has been out in early access, which has put developer Sand Sailor Studio in the mood to look back at the year that was.
The post is quite literally a retrospective of the last six content updates applied to the game, touching on additions like custom game mode features, farming improvements, tree respawning, the ability to establish outposts, and new weapon research. The studio has also put out a small celebratory trailer to mark the milestone and is offering the game at a 40% discount until June 26th.
Of course most of this is fluff and a sales push, but that’s primarily because there’s no new news about the game’s next update beyond a sentence that promises that fans should “expect good news really soon” and assurance that the update is nearly finished. For now, it’s time for a victory lap.
