While we could list all different variations of MMORPG quest types out there, in the end they can all be put into one of two bins: Either they’re quests that require you to think to solve puzzles or navigate your way through the mission, or they’re quests that are so simple and straight-forward that your brain is not required.
Sometimes the latter type are great when you want to get into a relaxing state and blast through a ton of semi-mindless tasks while feeling accomplished and reaping rewards. But sometimes we yearn for the more thoughtful missions that engage us and draw us into the story, pitting our minds against the developers.
When quests make you think and figure stuff out, do you appreciate that or do you kind of resent it? How about when quests get overly complicated and require you to step out of the game entirely to look up a solution?
