Black Desert’s 30th class, Wukong, is live this week as the basegame is free to play through July 10

Pearl Abyss spent last weekend’s Heidel Ball dishing on what’s en route for Black Desert in the near future, and now some of that content is already coming to pass in the form of the game’s new class.

Black Desert Online welcomes an exciting wave of content and deals, headlined by the long-anticipated debut of its newest and 30th playable class in the game, Wukong,” the studio says. “The legendary pole-wielder and Nimbus rider, Wukong, has arrived. AKA the Fighting Buddha’s Heir, Wukong wields the Power Pole and Gourd Bottle, and the formidable Jade Pillar as his awakening weapon.” Naturally, players who take up Wukong’s pole (sorry) have the expect platter of level-up events to contend with. And don’t worry if you’re out of character slots; the patch notes make clear you’re getting some extras to make space for Wukong and his pole (again, sorry).

Notably, Black Desert’s basegame is free starting today through July 10th, so basically the entirety of the holiday period and then some here in the U.S. Newbies are even being treated to a whole event to load them down with free catch-up gold.
