No longer content with merely bringing democracy to armies of insectoid aliens, the eponymous military force of Helldivers 2 is now going to be bringing democracy to the players on Xbox Series X|S consoles. The stream of same is embedded below, but don’t be fooled by the length; it’s an hour of absolutely nothing before the announcement, which takes just a couple minutes. Which, to be fair, is some prime trolling.
The announcement is pretty light on details beyond the date of August 26th, 2025, along with the note that fans can pre-order the game right now. So now regardless of the console that you prefer to have sitting in your living room, you will be able to hop in and take part in spreading democracy across the galaxy with extreme prejudice. And let’s face it, it’s a good thing that Microsoft is getting a game ported over from another platform, since the company laid off all the people who could make the console’s own games this week.
