There’s a point in Final Fantasy XIV fights that are going badly where you have no one left who can cast any kind of raise spell. So long as you have one person who can pick up the rest of the group, you can keep things going for a remarkably long time, but as soon as that ends, you face a problem. Some players will decide that this is the moment to pitch themselves into the nearest instant-death zone to reset the fight. Others will then struggle to DPS the boss down before everything ends. Others just start playing sloppy because, y’know, who cares?
There is no right or wrong reaction to these things; maybe you can win, maybe you can’t, but it honestly isn’t the point either way. The point is how you handle it. So how do you handle it? Do you accept that the fight is lost and hurry to reset? Do you try to drag to a last-minute victory? Does it change depending on the intensity of the fight and/or how close you think you are to a clear?
