This might come as a shock to ARK: Survival Evolved players, but Studio Wildcard has announced more content for the survival game, this time in the form of three new environments. OK, so it’s no surprise at all; the studio is known for pouring content into the game at a fairly quick pace. Soon players will have the chance to explore a beautiful ice cave filled with (deadly) jumping puzzles, a humid, swampy arena where the Broodmother now resides, and various ruins (which devs say will play a key role in ARK’s backstory) scattered about the landscape. This new content will be showing up in game in the next few weeks, but you can get a gander at the new environs in the gallery below.
When not immersed in her favorite virtual worlds, MJ can be found hanging out with her family, reading, coaching/playing sports, writing fiction, singing, and dabbling in graphic design (in random order, depending on mood and season). Her favorite part of MMOs? Observing the dynamics of virtual communities. That psychology degree has to come in handy somewhere, doesn't it?
MJ's Massively Overpowered adventures can be found many places: She investigates Secret World Legends/The Secret World's conspiracies in Chaos Theory, chronicles the EverQuest franchise in EverQuesting, practices survival in many sandboxes with The Survivalist, and livestreams for the Stream Team.

It’s that time of year again: when you realize half-way through your indulgence of in-game festivals that you totally forgot to go out and pick up gifts for all the EverQuest franchise and Daybreak Games fans on your list. Or maybe you didn’t forget, but you’ve been totally stumped as to what to get that certain someone that already has everything in game. Never fear, MOP is here to help! And we’ve got the answer for you: Gift them something outside the game. You’ve already got some good ideas regarding DC Universe Online, so here are a few for fans of the other titles that caught my eye.
Would you have eaten turkey this Thanksgiving if you’d had to catch it yourself? Not likely if those birds are like the ones in ARK; there, the turkeys eat you! MassivelyOP’s MJ will be opening the doors to MOP’s new arena, and the first foe players can face is the super turkey. Join us live at 12:00 p.m. to see how well you hold out against this ferocious fowl.

While others might be spending Black Friday running people over in stores, MassivelyOP’s MJ will be running them down on the streets of Los Santos in GTAO. OK, so we know MJ can’t bring herself to purposefully drive over innocent pedestrians, but there are plenty of bad elements out there she might give a little kiss to once or twice with her bumper. Or maybe a tank. Join is live at 6:00 p.m. as OPTV‘s infamous Stream Team brings you…

You’ve heard what Paladins is: It’s an objective-based team FPS. You’ve learned even more details from our hands-on. Now is your chance to actually see it in action. MassivelyOP’s MJ is diving head-first into the beta for a first-time look at the game. Will she survive? Tune in live at 1:00 p.m. to see how well she fares in this new environment.

What’s more appropriate on Thanksgiving than being a Hobbit? Nothing! Food and our furry-footed friends go together like cheese and crackers, like peanut butter and jelly, like… well, you get the idea. After a filling holiday feast, MassivelyOP’s MJ can’t think of a better place to lounge off her turkey coma than the Shire, so she’s kicking back in LOTRO on her Burglar. Who knows, there might even be pie to steal there! Join us live at 7:00 p.m. as as OPTV‘s infamous Stream Team brings you…

It is definitely no secret that I like The Secret World. I mean, I really like it. OK, so I adore it in a hug it, and love it, and squeeze it, and call it George kind of way. Personally, I just find there are many things to like about it (and have said as much in plenty of Chaos Theory columns and Stream Team episodes). But today isn’t about my esteem for the conspiracy-filled, horror-laden title. On this day of Thanksgiving, I want to reflect on why I am thankful for TSW. It’s more than just liking the game, it’s really appreciating what the game does for me and what it means in a grander scale.

Almost everyone knows that EverQuest II’s newest expansion launched last week, but what you might not realize is that the very same day, Daybreak launched an initiative to entice players to return to the game. A number of long-absent players were granted two free weeks of All-Access membership (if you’re missing yours, check your spam folder) just in time for a long holiday weekend!
If you haven’t logged into EQII for a while, it might be worth doing so now. Until December 2nd at 2:59 a.m. EST, the flagged accounts have full membership benefits, including double alternate currencies, bonus looted coin, faster mount speeds, access to the progression servers (Isle of Refuge, here we come!), and 10% off all purchases — including Terrors of Thalumbra.
And because All-access covers Daybreak’s other launched games as well, players can enjoy membership benefits in DC Universe Online, EverQuest, and PlanetSide 2, with the exception of the 500 free Daybreak coins that are granted with month-long subscriptions. You can check your account’s status by logging into your account management on the official site; you can also see the membership benefits buff icon when in game.
With so many festivals, events, and now the expansion, MassivelyOP’s MJ hasn’t had time to focus any on the core game of EverQuest II. And with two toons in their 40s, there is certainly plenty of stuff to do. She could travel to Steamfont and continue the Golden Path, adventure in the jungle of The Feerrot, dodge molten rock in Lavastorm, or even visit the hive in Rivervale. The bigger question is, should MJ dust off and play her Paladin, or should she keep playing on the Channeler? Tune in live at 8:00 p.m. to help her decide.

With the big EverQuest II server merges all wrapped up, Daybreak is delivering on its promise of offering players free transfers between the Halls of Fate, Skyfire, Maj’Dul, and even Antonia Bayle servers. Now is the chance for players to meet up with friends, consolidate characters in one place, or just strike out somewhere new.
Every character will receive a free, one-time use transfer token via in-game mail that can be redeemed between 1:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, December 3rd, and 3:00 p.m. EST Thursday, December 10th. After that time the tokens expire and any additional transfers must be bought from the marketplace. For everyone taking advantage of the transfers, there’s a handy FAQ that gives you the info you need to prepare for your move.
We first heard about the possibility of a bot-free EverQuest progression server back at E3. Now on December 9th, that server will become a reality. Called Phinigel, this server is a true box server, meaning that only one EQ account can be played per computer. Anyone wanting to multi-box will need to have a different computer set up for each account. This measure was developed to help solve the problem of the third-party boxing programs that have plagued the other progression servers.
Other features of this server include regular content updates every 90 days (no voting) and putting the big raid targets from each expansion in instances (with a 6.5 day account-wide lockout for each boss) as well as out in the contested world. As on the other progression servers, All-access membership is required to play on Phinigel.
