Will a shift in business model help the indie space strategy title AD2460 leap ahead in popularity and play? That question might be answered soon, as Fifth Season AS announced today that it will be taking the game from a subscription model to free-to-play next week.
The business model shift will come on Monday, December 7th, as part of Patch 7. The studio admitted that the game did not see "the anticipated user growth needed for an entertaining MMO," which is why it's flipping the F2P switch. Fifth Season promises that there will be no pay-to-win elements in the new model.
