The Daily Grind: What MMO do you see yourself playing in half a year?

A trial.

The future is an undiscovered country. We can make guesses and predictions, but we never know just how things are going to shake out. And sometimes the game we expect to be playing in no way matches the game we’re actually playing. But it’s still fun to look forward and predict the most likely outcome, because then we can look back and see how close we were to the mark, even if the conclusion is “not very close at all.”

In about half a year, the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion is going to be out, for example, so I have little doubt I’ll be playing that. If World of Warcraft: Legion keeps putting out solid content, I’ll probably still be in that. I also wouldn’t say no to another game in the mix there, maybe the occasional round of Master x Master. I certainly don’t see myself, say, jumping ship and living in EVE Online, even though it’s certainly possible.

What about you? What MMO do you see yourself playing in half a year? Is it a game you’re currently playing, one you expect to be out by then, or just one that you’ll probably have jumped back into by that point?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
