The Daily Grind: Do you like to have physical MMO boxes?

Demon Hunters HATE this holiday

I have a physical box for every single World of Warcraft expansion, but I might not for Legion. When faced with the choice between a physical box and the opportunity to play Demon Hunters ahead of time, I happily picked the latter. And it makes sense, really, but part of me does still mourn the fact that I’m breaking a tradition that I’ve maintained for the decade in which I’ve been playing the game.

Of course, physical products are hardly necessary these days; I don’t need to have a box to buy in to RIFT or TERA, and my Warhammer Online box is doing little aside from being a handsome paperweight. But I’m glad to have it, even though I don’t need it. So what about you, dear readers? Do you like to have physical MMO boxes, even if more or less every MMO allows you to purchase things purely through digital means? Or do you see it as a vestige that you’ve happily done away with?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
