Skull and Bones opens its season 3 test server on Friday – without the 5v5 PvP mode

If you’ve been waiting patiently for Skull and Bones’ new PvP mode, get ready to wait some more because Ubisoft is delaying the rollout to address player feedback.

“We have been thoroughly testing the PvP game mode internally and with our Insiders,” Ubisoft says. “We’ve received great feedback and have identified more opportunities to improve further. Because the quality of the experience is paramount to us, we’ve made the decision to postpone the release of the 5v5 PvP mode. Our aim is to take the time and ensure we’ve addressed the most critical feedback before it’s in players’ hands. Therefore, it will not be available with the launch of Season 3, or in the PTS.”

So what exactly is on the PTS, which is preloadable as of today and begins August 16th? A large chunk of season 3: the Shadowbeast dragon boss, the mooncake regatta, new merchant convoys, a new juggernaut ship, and new cannon weaponry. (It’s a far-east themed season, if you couldn’t tell!) Do note that the test is a brief one; the PTS event ends August 19th. The season itself kicks off August 22nd.
