The Daily Grind: What old favorite MMO has lost all its flavor for you?

I use an odd chewing gum metaphor when I relate to varying levels of interest in MMOs. When you first start playing a good title, it’s like you’ve bitten into a full-flavor stick of gum that lasts a long time. But then when the flavor diminishes enough, you wander away — and let the flavor start to build back up (it’s not a perfect metaphor, OK?). Then you return, enjoy the flavor again, but it could deplete even faster.

Then one day you return to an old favorite MMO… and you discover that there’s no flavor left no matter how much time you’ve given it. It’s at this sad point that you have to acknowledge that, yes, you’re done with this title.

Are there MMORPGs like this for you? Can you think of any titles you used to play and return to regularly, only to find in recent years have lost all of their “flavor” to you?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
