I don’t think I’m going that far out on a limb by saying that there are a lot of MMO altoholics in our audience. And on our staff. And writing this article. That “new character” button offers an instant rush of excitement and potential, and sometimes we’re jamming on that like it’s paying out slot jackpots.

As much fun as it is to make new characters, overly busy character rosters full of alts that I’ll never pick up again annoy the tidy nature of my personality. And every so often, I’ll ruthlessly cull my character select screen to bring my focus down to a few favorites.

Do you ever cut your character roster down to size? If so, when’s the last time you kicked your alts to a trash can?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
