The Daily Grind: What was the last long-term goal you accomplished in an MMO?

Sort of this.

One of the nice things about MMOs as a genre is that they’re good games for very, very slowly accomplishing goals that you set for yourself. I don’t mean that in a negative way, but rather that you can decide you want to get a title and just slowly chip away at it for months or even years. It’ll happen when it happens, and you don’t need to rush. And that’s why every so often it comes up in my memory, and I’m curious about what people have been slowly and steadily working on without any kind of urgency.

Maybe you just finished a multi-year grind for a specific weapon that required a bunch of crafting. Maybe you finished leveling a character of every possible class or race or whatever. Maybe you even just hit a certain total playtime milestone. Whatever the long-term goal might be, it’s worth sharing. So what was the last long-term goal you accomplished in an MMO? Even if it’s something that matters more to you than to the game itself?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
