The Daily Grind: What MMO music would you never turn off?

Even though I’m a huge fan of MMORPG soundtracks (shameless plugs for Battle Bards and Jukebox Heroes go here), I get that music can get repetitive and even annoying in online games. After all, you’re playing for hundreds of hours and not every MMO’s score is a pure delight upon the 89th time you’ve heard it. Still, it slightly irks me when I see players take some sort of weird pride in announcing that they’ve switched the music off, as if they’re past it, somehow.

A soundtrack is just as integral to a game as it is to movies and TV shows, and I firmly believe that the MMO experience is lessened somewhat without it. Still, it’s always your choice whether or not to have it running.

So instead of focusing on the grating scores that you can’t wait to disable, why not share the ones that you wouldn’t dream of kicking out into the cold? What MMO music would you never turn off?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
