As the long-running joke goes, all RPG characters are instantly born into the world at the age of 20 in the prime of their health — and they shall never, ever age. Elders only exist in game worlds to be sage mentors, after all, and certainly not to be adventurers drawing upon years of hard-won experience.
But part of the beauty of MMOs is that — and this is true! — it is entirely possible to create a character who is more advanced in years than a college sophomore student. You can add those face wrinkles, maybe a little sun-weathered skin, and then throw caution to the wind and activate grey or balding hair for maximum attractiveness.
So confession time: Do you now or have you ever played an older character in an MMO? You may define “older” however you like, but if it’s “whatever Justin’s age is” I’m going to quietly sob into my Grape Nuts.
