One of the really cool things about City of Heroes is that it offers you a lot of cosmetic options for every single powerset. No matter what sort of dual blades you want, or if you want dual melee weapons that aren’t technically blades, you can almost certainly find a customization that tickles your fancy… assuming, of course, that you’re all right with having two weapons. If you want to just pair the mechanics of Dual Blades with the look of, say, a single katana? You are sadly out of luck, that’s not a thing the game offers you.
This is just something that happens on a fairly regular basis. It’s very easy to have a character option in an MMORPG that you think is really cool but that just doesn’t match your personal plans for your characters. So is there a class (or skill, or ship, or whatever) in an MMORPG with mechanics you love and a look that you hate? And when faced with this dilemma, how do you deal with the disconnect?
