When you play MMOs for a long time and enjoy observing different aspects of them, you’re going to notice mobs beyond abstract loot piñatas with buffs and debuffs attached to their name. I really do enjoy zooming in to check out enemy art styles, animations, and even their death throes.
If an art team does its job particularly well, a mob may be elevated beyond a non-descript foe to having a charming or memorable personality in its own right. We all know the gleeful sprints of murlocs, the uprooting of huorns, or the stalking of the sinister Tonberries.
