I may be the only person who cares – and I don’t really care that much – but I don’t have high hopes for the future of Bless Unleashed now that it’s moved to its new home under Valofe. In general, it feels that Valofe just sort of hold titles that are profitable enough to keep alive but not really get any sort of active development. It’s not a good sign for the game’s future if you’re a fan of the game, although considering this is something like the fourth lease on life for this particular property maybe hoping for the future was already off the table.
But that in and of itself prompts a question: Has a publisher change ever had a good result for an MMO? Has there ever been a time wherein a game changed hands and suddenly it found itself with a new lease on life, new development, better progress, and so forth? Certainly there have been a lot of game projects that have shuffled owners and changes in administration of the years. Can you think of a time that this was actually a good thing for the health of the game?
