The Daily Grind: Are there any MMOs you wish you had quit before you did?

We have Au Ra at home.

As has been observed by others, we all have stories about romantic interests who qualify as “the one that got away.” We tend to be worse about the stories regarding “the ones that should have gotten away way sooner.” Sometimes things are bad and you know they’re bad, but you stick it out for a remarkably long period of time, until you find yourself still in a relationship three months after you knew you weren’t happy and now you’re kind of sneaking through the kitchen so you two don’t actually see one another. Not that this is a personal situation I’ve been in.

The same thing can happen in MMOs, of course. You can absolutely wind up in a place wherein you know you’re not having fun in a game and don’t want to play it any longer, but you keep playing out of a vain hope that things will improve. And then you finally stop and you wonder why you stuck it out with a game that you weren’t enjoying for so long. So are there any MMOs you wish you had quit before you did?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
