Last week hungry MMORPG fans learned that Fantastic Pixel Castle’s developing MMO Ghost would begin starting some of its first small scale but external playtests, which are planned to begin sometime in September over a projected four month-long span. That plan appears to be moving forward as scheduled according to tweets from studio head Greg Street, who expresses his eagerness for testing to begin.
According to Street, external testing with “a very small group” is set to start “in a couple of weeks,” with the primary aim of seeing if players can even log in to the MMO to begin with. Gameplay details are otherwise thin right now, while Street confirms that what’s in-game now in terms of visuals are placeholder assets. “Hopefully they are just excited about helping us mold the game for a few years to come,” he writes.
As for when testing will expand, that’s answered in part by Street as well. “When we are LFM for Ghost playtests, you won’t miss it,” he promises. “We will have a way to sign up that isn’t my twitter feed :)”
Our first external playtest is in a couple of weeks with a very small group. It’s 60% to make sure they can get in the game. Trying to manage tester expectations that all art is still stand in. Hopefully they are just excited about helping us mold the game for a few years to come
