Skull & Bones’ latest patch runs into a delay caused by a ‘critical’ server-crashing issue

Today is patch day for Skull & Bones, which naturally means that maintenance had to happen yesterday in order to apply the update. However, it looks as if Ubisoft Singapore has run into some trouble and has to extend the maintenance for longer than anticipated in order to address a “critical” server problem.

Reports of the delay were first shared early this morning, with the studio simply saying that it was wrestling with server instability and that maintenance would continue until further notice. About three hours later, a more detailed missive was posted explaining that the issue was causing “systemic server crashes” and promising to keep players informed of when the game will be back up and playable again, though no ETA is still offered at the time of this writing.

As for the patch itself, it’s set to bring new options to the map filter, quality-of-life updates for helm management, lowered penalties for failing manufactory defense missions, and better merchant convoy rewards, among other things.
