The Daily Grind: Which maintenance mode MMORPG have you still played the longest?

Maintenance mode is a weird thing even just as a concept. Some games claim to be in maintenance mode while still receiving regular updates, some never claim to be in it but just stop getting content updates, and some do still get updates small enough that maybe they still feel more like maintenance to you. So we’re playing fast and loose with the concept for today’s question because the real question is about the games you keep playing even when there is unlikely to be any significant new content.

Maybe your game is still being run on fan-maintained serves where updates happen, but they are infrequent and slow. Maybe the size of the updates has shrunk substantially so it’s mostly just monthly challenges. Maybe it’s even a game that is maintained well but really isn’t getting any new updates, for real this time (although that category might just be the original Guild Wars at this point). Whatever you count here, which maintenance mode MMORPG have you still played the longest even knowing it’s in maintenance mode?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
